Exercise reduces tobacco cravings and helps manage withdrawal symptoms. A study by the University of British Columbia showed that half of the participants who had a 10-week community running programme aimed at smoking cessation were successful to quit smoking and improve their mental health.  In recent years, running has become one of the most popular exercises in Hong Kong with various marathons and running events every year. To follow the success of Smoke-free Run 2019 and 2022, Hong Kong Council on Smoking and Health (COSH) will organize "Smoke-free Run" again on February 14, 2026 (Saturday). The event aims at motivating smokers to quit smoking through exercises and encouraging the public to build a healthy lifestyle. Wise Mike, the smoke-free ambassador will lead the public to join this healthy event.

The race features 10km, 3km, 1km, and 800m family run, with categories for Individual, Corporate Team, Schools Team, Smoke-free Buddy and Smoke-free Family Team. A smoke-free carnival will also be held, participants can know more smoke-free message through games and exhibitions, and have the chance to win various exquisite prizes.

Each participant will receive a race pack, including a Wise Mike drawstring bag, a sports T-shirt, a race bib with a timing chip, a sports towel, a pair of sports socks, a water bottle, a Wise Mike shoulder plush and a finisher medal. All participants are invited to spread the smoke-free message to fellow runners and their family and friends. Wise Mike will also be there in person to meet everyone and cheer you on!
